Each horse at Double U Ranch has a unique story. Some may be on a journey toward rehabilitation, while others will remain with us for lifelong care.
Meet the Herd
Pearl
Her full name is The Black Pearl named after the ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean. She is a Tennessee Walker. She was found at a shelter after being taken from a drug dealer’s backyard. She is the alpha mare here at the ranch, but sweet and loving too. She is a dream to ride and loves the great outdoors. She watches over all the other horses even though she is the youngest here.
Bullseye
Bullseye was named after the beloved horse in Toy Story as he has the same goofy, playful charm. He is a Red Dun quarter horse mix with a lot of spunk. He was rescued from a kill list because he was deemed “unteachable and untrainable”. I beg to differ because we have him whistle, one word command and hand signal trained.
Jessie
Awe Jessie, she is the oldest of the bunch right now and a sweetheart. She has this funny way of grumbling at a person, so her nickname is Eeyore. She is named after Jessie from Toy Story. She is a Sorrel quarter horse and has been improving greatly with her self-esteem here at the ranch.
